17th Installation Ceremony – A Milestone Behind the Mic

Some moments become milestones because they remind us how far we have come. For me, the 17th Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of the University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts was one such unforgettable moment.

Announcing, compering, public speaking, and being behind the microphone have always been a true passion of mine. From ceremonies, competitions, and television programmes to countless other stages, every opportunity has shaped my journey as an announcer and compere. Being recognized as one of the best announcers in Sri Lanka has made this journey even more meaningful.

Yet, this ceremony was special in its own way. It gave me my first opportunity to step onto the university NAT podium and the privilege of compering a significant Rotaract event in both Sinhala and English. Standing there as a Rotaractor, representing my club, and doing what I love most behind the mic made the experience truly memorable.

More than just another event, the 17th Installation Ceremony became a milestone in my university and compering journey — a moment where my passion, my university life, and my Rotaract journey came together.
