In March 2025, the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts came together with the Rotaract University of Colombo, Faculty of Law to create a transformative space where university students could grow into confident, capable leaders. What emerged was Empower, a bold and inspiring project that tackled some of the most pressing challenges faced by undergraduates, including lack of confidence, leadership uncertainty, and the struggle to adapt to new academic and social environments.

Empower was designed in two impactful phases. The first phase launched a digital campaign that featured a series of blog articles and social media posts centered on themes such as effective leadership traits, the art of networking, team guidance, and digital literacy. The second phase of the project was a live awareness session held via Google Meet. This interactive workshop was conducted by renowned personality development coach Rtn. Rasini Bandara, who guided students through hands-on discussions on self-awareness, confidence building, and interpersonal effectiveness. It was more than a lecture—it was a personal journey for each participant. The session offered students not only theoretical understanding but also practical tools they could immediately apply in both academic and personal contexts.

At its heart, Empower was about more than leadership—it was about possibility. It reminded every student involved that leadership is not reserved for a few; it is a path open to all who are willing to grow, connect, and rise to the challenge.
