On the 8th of April 2025, the Rotaract Clubs of the University of Colombo – Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Management & Finance, and the School of Computing came together to organize Rota Awurudu’25 , a collaborative New Year celebration. The project was aimed at reviving the spirit of the Sri Lankan New Year while promoting unity among university students from different faculties. The festivities kicked off with the Kiri Ithiraweema, a traditional ritual that set the tone for the day—respectful, joyful, and deeply rooted in Sri Lankan culture.
