Through Her Eyes, I Watched

Through Her Eyes, I Watched

Backup flower
Blooms between the cracks
Layers of muddy boots
Chomped her down the lane
No more marbles to toss
Or going around the bush
She clasps her petals
And yearned for blood
A little insect pierced her left hand
Silent cry hid in candy wrappers
Boys are down the lane
Ready to go for another round
Maybe another
And maybe one final around
Just like some sweet before dinner
They took turns laughed
And went straight home
While the last petal
Straight fallen to the ground
And a tear fell effortlessly
Loosening the ground
