From Healing Hearts to Leading with Heart

From Healing Hearts to Leading with Heart

My Rotaract journey began during my first year at university. At that time, everything felt new and familiar all at once. I didn’t know exactly what to expect, but I experienced something truly meaningful. One of the most beautiful parts of this journey has been the people — the friends I made through Rotaract quickly became like a family. Even now, when I look at my phone gallery, I have a special folder filled with photos of my Rotaract family and the memories we shared.

The very first project I was involved with was the Healing Hearts project. I served as an Organizing Committee member, and it was such a special experience, that it truly touched my heart. This project gave me a sense of joy and purpose, and it motivated me to continue volunteering through Rotaract. After Healing Hearts, I participated in many projects during my first year, gaining valuable experiences and learning the importance of service.

In my second year, I decided to take on more responsibility and applied for the position of Membership Development Director. Being the only director in that avenue was not an easy task, especially while balancing my university studies. However, I was fortunate to receive support from many wonderful people. I want to especially mention Senara, who served as Assistant Secretary and continuously supported me throughout my journey. Alongside her, our President, Secretary, Exco and Board members provided invaluable help that made managing my role much easier. Thanks to their encouragement and teamwork, I was able to fulfill my duties well and grow as a leader.

Rotaract has become such an important part of my life. It gave me more than just leadership and organizing experience—it gave me memories, friendships, and personal growth. It made my university life more meaningful, as I was not only focused on academics but also giving something back to society. I am truly grateful that I could be part of such a club and contribute to something bigger than myself. Even after I complete my university studies, I know these memories will stay close to my heart. Rotaract helped shape me into who I am today. It showed me that with dedication and heart, you can do so much for others—and in return, find the best version of yourself.
