17th Installation Ceremony from the Eyes of a Project Chair

Being a Project Chair for the Organising Committee of the 17th Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts was an especially valuable experience to me as it gave me the opportunity to work closely with different people while taking responsibility for a major part of the project. 

During this project, I learned how to coordinate with team members, communicate expectations clearly, and make sure that everyone was working towards the same goal. More importantly, I learned how to work with people with different personalities and approaches while maintaining a positive and productive environment. 

Being involved in the 17th Installation Ceremony also allowed me to see firsthand how an installation ceremony is planned, coordinated, and executed. I got to understand the amount of preparation that happens behind the scenes before an event actually takes place. 

Of course, there were some challenging moments, but they taught me how to stay calm, solve problems, and take responsibility for my decisions. At the same time, working with the committee was genuinely enjoyable. Overall, this experience strengthened my leadership, communication, coordination, and project-management skills.
