17th Installation Ceremony – RACUOCFOA

On the evening of 12^th of August 2026, our journey on the RI year 2026/2027 was officially initiated with all the splendour, joy, drive and the best of hopes. On this day, the 17^th installation ceremony of the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts was held at the New Arts Theatre of the faculty.

The club had the privilege of being honoured by the presence of chief guest for the evening, Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilaka, Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, District Rotaract Chair (DRC), District Rotaract Representative (DRR), District Rotaract Representative (DRR) Elect, Rotary and Rotaract Past Presidents,  the Senior Treasurer of the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts, Professor  Shashitanganee Weeerawansa, and last but not the least the families, friends, and our fellow Rotaractors whose unwavering support is forever our pillar of strength. The event commenced at 7 PM with the arrival of the chief guest, which was followed by the auspicious lighting of the oil lamp and the singing of the national anthem. Then the event proceeded with the Rotaract formalities. 

Everyone present for the occasion had the opportunity to look back at the RI year 2025/2026 with pride and admiration equally as the Secretary’s Report for the previous year was read by the outgoing secretary Rtr. Nethroo Balasooriya reflecting on the accomplishments and the milestones achieved by the club. This was followed by the heartwarming address by the outgoing president Rtr. Mobeetha Muralimanohar whose visionary leadership, empathy and resilience led the club through the highs and lows of the RI year 2025/2026. The most anticipated moment of the evening arrived next. The leadership of the club was officially transferred to Rtr. Anya Senadhira collaring her as the president of the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts for the RI year 2026/2027. The newly appointed president addressed the gathering with a humble celebration of her journey as a Rotaractor and shared her ambitious vision for the coming year under the theme “Service for tomorrow, a legacy for a lifetime”. The president then appointed the Board of Directors for the RI year 2026/2027 who took on their responsibilities with confidence, passion and dedication to serve. The event came to an end following a series of inspiring and insightful speeches by the guests who traced the beginning of RACUOCFOA instilled the mission of the club in everyone’s hearts. 

The success of the event was made possible owing to the generous contributions by our sponsors MELWA Conglomerate, JC International Private Limited and Salient Agro Products, and Pan Asia Bank. As the ceremony ended, it marked the end of a beginning. The Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts will continue its service, as impactful as ever, with the fresh leadership, novel ideas and meaningful projects in the year ahead.
