The Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts organized a ground-breaking event "Break the Taboo", on 6th November 2024. This impactful session sought to educate and empower students with essential knowledge on sexual health. The event featured two esteemed guest speakers: Dr. Lalindra Katthiriarachchi, Senior Lecturer in Physiology at General Sir John Kotelawala University, and Dr. Piyumi Perera, Venereologist from the STD Clinic in Puttalam and the STD AIDS Control Program. The session focused on critical topics such as Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), their prevention, and the importance of practicing safe and informed sexual behaviour.
