State of the Blog #1

Hello all!

It’s been a while since you’ve heard from us, hasn’t it? We’re here to tell you where we’ve been and what the road ahead for us here at the Editorial looks like. The first few months, no doubt, have been absolutely electric and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone in the team. December however, proved to be a rather slow month for us and if you’re wondering why, it’s because the Editorial took a much-deserved break where we gave all our writers some time to rest after what proved to be a very intense yet highly productive first five months. Trust us when we say that they deserved it. But January marks a whole new month and with it, a whole slew of new adventures for us here at the Editorial. So, what better way to start the new year than by taking a look back at all the accomplishments we’ve made thus far?

During our first five months, we’ve published;

• 51 articles in total
• 35 non project related articles
• 16 project related articles
• 2 projects
• 1 interview

In addition to the above, we also gave our website a much-needed refresh in terms of website layout and design. Here at the Editorial, we are constantly reviewing and going over what we have been doing and what we could be doing. This is done in order to make necessary changes to our workflows, publications and article rollout to ensure that the articles we publish are not only rich in content but are just as meaningful. It has been a very rewarding experience for us so far, to have been able to provide a platform for young writers to both polish and improve their writing and to share and talk about the things that inspire and mean a lot to them.

We’re thrilled to announce that not only will we be resuming publishing starting next week, but that we’ll also be starting off the year with our next project! It’s such a pleasure to finally introduce our third project, “The SDG Roundtable” with you all, where we’ll be discussing and providing insight into the 17 Sustainable Development Goals outlined by the United Nations. We are also incredibly excited to announce the project chairs for this ambitious project. Rtr. Gethmi Adikari and Rtr. Tharini Ratwatte are two exceptionally talented and gifted young ladies and we can’t wait to see how they spearhead what is arguably our largest project to date.

So, strap in, folks! We’re gearing up for the remaining half of our journey and we hope you are all as excited as we are to see what’s next for the Editorial. Thank you for being a part of our journey, thank you for supporting us through and through and most importantly, Happy New Year! We’ll see you all again next week.
