Storytelling Circle: Bridging Cultures Through Folktales

Stories have always had the power to connect people across borders, and Storytelling Circle did just that. Organized by the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Vadodara, India (RID 3060), this cross-cultural folktale exchange created a beautiful space for dialogue, discovery, and shared heritage. The project unfolded in two meaningful phases. SkillXcellerator: Empowering the Next Generation of Professionals

In today’s fast-evolving world, staying ahead means constantly upgrading one’s skills. Understanding this need, the Rotaract Clubs of Colombo North, University of Colombo – Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Law, and School of Computing, University of Moratuwa, University of Kelaniya; University of Peradeniya; University of Sri Jayewardenepura; and the Alumni of University of Moratuwa., launched SkillXcellerator—a two-phase initiative designed to equip young professionals and students in Sri Lanka with valuable, future-focused skills. On the 8th of April 2025, the Rotaract Clubs of the University of Colombo – Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Management & Finance, and the School of Computing came together to organize Rota Awurudu’25 , a collaborative New Year celebration. Healing Hearts 2.0

Mental health and suicide prevention are topics that affect many of us. Hence, the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts organised Healing Hearts 2.0—to help raise awareness and offer support where it’s needed most. Golden Hours

On March 22nd, 2025, members of the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts, visited Sisters of Providence, "Talitha Cum", a shelter for elderly cancer patients located at St. Anne’s Convent. Many of the residents there have been left without family support, making emotional connection and companionship all the more essential. The visit was part of the club’s heartfelt initiative - Golden Hours, designed to offer mental relaxation and emotional support to the residents. Rather than large gestures or complex programming, the focus was on something beautifully simple: being present. In March 2025, the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts came together with the Rotaract University of Colombo, Faculty of Law to create a transformative space where university students could grow into confident, capable leaders. Cultural Fusion

On March 29, 2025, the Rotaract Club of the University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts, teamed up with the Rotaract Club of RVCE, India, for a virtual event titled Cultural Fusion. Held via Google Meet, the session brought together over 35 Rotaractors for a cultural exchange that celebrated the diversity and richness of Sri Lankan and Indian traditions. Club Service Avenue The Club Service Avenue successfully organized a Valentine’s Special Love Flix – a movie night on the 5th of February.
