Yes, exams are coming up but the Month in Review team couldn’t resist updating you on some of the most exciting and interesting events of RotaractArts, so take a break, and read away!

Club Service Avenue

The inaugural project of Club Service Avenue,  ‘Sweet Grass’, by the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts, was held at Viharamahadevi Park on August 19, 2023, the event was a remarkable success. The park transformed into a vibrant hub of engaging activities, showcasing the club members’ dedication and organizational skills. From interactive games to artistic stalls,  ‘Sweet Grass’; brought the community together in a memorable way. Kudos to the club for this fantastic initiative, and we are excited to see more from them in the future.

The month of September was exceptional for all the Rotaractors since the 14th installation ceremony was scheduled to be ceremonially done. Therefore, for the month, Club Service Avenue did not plan for new projects but was tasked with hosting the Installation successfully. Club service avenue played an important role in raising funds for the Installation as they helped hold “Achcharu Stalls”; and “Mehendi Stalls. Finally, here’s a round of applause to our Executive Committee and new Board of Directors 23/24. We are hoping to have a remarkable Rotaract year with the best!

සමාජ සේවා අංශයේ සමාරම්භක ව්‍යාපෘතිය “Sweet Grass” නමින් අගෝස්තු 19 වන දා විහාරමහාදේවි උද්‍යානයේ දී ඉතා සාර්ථක ව පැවැත්විණි.  උද්‍යානය විචිත්‍රවත් ස්ථානයක් බවට පරිවර්තනය කරමින් විවිධ ක්‍රියාකාරකම්වල නිරත වීමට සහ සමාජ සේවා අංශයේ සාමාජිකයන්ගේ කැපවීම සහ සංවිධානාත්මක කුසලතා ප්‍රදර්ශනය කිරීමට මොවුන් සමත් විය. සමාජ සේවා අංශය ක්‍රියාකාරකම්වලට අමතරව කලාත්මක කුටි ගෙනහැර දක්වමින් “Sweet Grass” ව්‍යාපෘතිය අමතක නොවන අත්දැකීමක් බවට පත් කළේය. අපි මොවුන්ගේ ඉදිරි ව්‍යාපෘති ද උද්‍යෝගයෙන් බලාපොරොත්තු වෙමු.

14වන වාර්ෂික නව නිලධාරී මණ්ඩල ස්ථාපන උළෙල අතිඋත්කර්ෂවත් අන්දමින් පැවැත්ව නියමිත තිබූ බැවින් සැප්තැම්බර් මාසය සියලු රොටරැක්ටර්වරුන්ට වඩාත් සුවිශේෂී මාසයක් විය. එබැවින් සංගම් සේවා අංශය මඟින් වෙනත් කිසිඳු ව්‍යාපෘතියක් සංවිධානය නොකළ අතර මෙම උළෙල සඳහා අවශ්‍ය මුදල් ප්‍රතිපාදනය කිරීමට විශාල වෙහෙසක් දැරීය . ඒ සඳහා ඔවුහු අච්චාරු වෙළඳ කුටි මෙන් ම මෙහෙන්දි ඇඳිමේවැඩසටහනක් ද අතිසාර්ථක අන්දමින් සංවිධානය කළෝය. එමෙන් ම ඔවුහු නව නිලධාරී මණ්ඩලය වෙත තම සුබ පැතුම් ගෙන ඒමට ද අමතක නොකරයි .

14 வது நிறுவல் விழா சம்பிரதாயபூர்வமாக செய்ய திட்டமிடப்பட்டதிலிருந்து செப்டம்பர் மாதம் அனைத்து ரோட்டராக்டர்களுக்கும் விதிவிலக்காக இருந்தது.  எனவே, அந்த மாதத்திற்கு, கிளப் சர்வீஸ் அவென்யூ புதிய திட்டங்களைத் திட்டமிடவில்லை, ஆனால் நிறுவலை வெற்றிகரமாக நடத்தும் பணியில் கிளப் சர்வீஸ் அவென்யூ “அச்சாரு ஸ்டால்களை” நடத்த உதவியதால், நிறுவலுக்கான நிதியைத் திரட்டுவதில் கிளப் சர்வீஸ் அவென்யூ முக்கிய பங்காற்றியது;  மற்றும் “மெஹந்தி ஸ்டால்கள். இறுதியாக, எங்கள் செயற்குழு மற்றும் புதிய இயக்குநர்கள் குழுவிற்கு இதோ ஒரு கைதட்டல். 23/24.  சிறந்த ரோட்டராக்ட் ஆண்டுடன் சிறப்பான ஆண்டாக அமையும் என நம்புகிறோம்!

Community Service Avenue

The very first project of the community service avenue took place on the 17^th August 2023 at Arawwala Dharmapala Vidyalaya. Project ‘Pruthuvi’ sought to distribute plants to rural schools with the aim of addressing climate action ( SDG 13). They got 25 plants from Department of Ayuruweda and distributed them to above mentioned school. The resource person was climate change and sustainability specialist, Ms. Dona Avishka Shamindry Sendanayake. With whose support they conducted an awareness session to students about importance of tree planting, how it can help to address climate action and other related SDG goals and finally rotaractors together with the school children planted the herbal plants Props to their project chairs: Mandeera Premaratne & Dulasha Thanuli, who did a splendid job!

ප්‍රජා සේවා මාවතේ පළමු ව්‍යාපෘතිය 2023 අගෝස්තු 17 වන දින ඇරැව්වල ධර්මපාල විද්‍යාලයේදී සිදු විය. ‘Pruthuvi’ ව්‍යාපෘතිය මගින් දේශගුණික ක්‍රියාමාර්ගවලට විසඳුම් සෙවීමේ අරමුණින් ග්‍රාමීය පාසල්වලට පැල බෙදා දෙන ලදී (SDG 13). ඔවුන් ආයුර්වේද දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවෙන් පැල 25ක් ලබාගෙන ඉහත පාසලට බෙදා දෙන ලදී. සම්පත් දායකයා වූයේ දේශගුණික විපර්යාස සහ තිරසාරභාවය පිළිබඳ විශේෂඥ දෝන අවිශ්කා ශමින්ද්‍රි සෙන්දනායක මහත්මියයි. ගස් සිටුවීමේ වැදගත්කම, දේශගුණික ක්‍රියාකාරකම් සහ වෙනත් ආශ්‍රිත SDG ඉලක්ක ආමන්ත්‍රණය කිරීමට එය උපකාරී වන ආකාරය පිළිබඳව සිසුන් දැනුවත් කිරීමේ සැසියක් ඔවුන් විසින් පවත්වන ලදී

சமூக சேவை அவென்யூவின் முதல் திட்டம் 17 ஆகஸ்ட் 2023 அன்று அரவ்வல தர்மபால வித்தியாலயத்தில் நடைபெற்றது. ‘ப்ருதுவி’ திட்டம் காலநிலை நடவடிக்கையை எதிர்கொள்ளும் நோக்கத்துடன் கிராமப்புற பள்ளிகளுக்கு தாவரங்களை விநியோகித்தது (SDG 13). அவர்கள் ஆயுருவேத திணைக்களத்தில் இருந்து 25 செடிகளை பெற்று மேலே குறிப்பிட்ட பாடசாலைக்கு வழங்கினர். வளவாளராக காலநிலை மாற்றம் மற்றும் நிலைத்தன்மை நிபுணர் திருமதி டோனா அவிஷ்கா ஷமிந்த்ரி செந்தநாயக்கா இருந்தார். மரம் நடுவதன் முக்கியத்துவம், காலநிலை நடவடிக்கை மற்றும் பிற SDG இலக்குகளை நிவர்த்தி செய்ய இது எவ்வாறு உதவும் என்பது குறித்து மாணவர்களுக்கு விழிப்புணர்வு அமர்வை நடத்தினர்.

Membership Development Avenue

The Membership Development Avenue is now proudly serving the Rotaract Club with 198 active members! The team has been successful in encouraging Rotaractors to participate in both ‘පෘථිවි’, organised by the Community Service Avenue, and the Club Picnic, organized by the Club Service Avenue. We look forward to seeing them supporting all the other avenues of the Rotaract Club and spreading their enthusiasm for the projects to our fellow Rotaractors.

The 14 th Installation Ceremony was a success! And it was all due to the hard work of the Membership Development Avenue and all the other avenues of the Rotaract Club. The team worked hard to create excitement and encourage the participation of Rotaractors for the club’s most elegant event of the year. With their passion , they will, no doubt, be great support to Rotaractors for all the upcoming projects .

දැන් ක්‍රියාකාරී සාමාජිකයින් 198 දෙනෙකුගෙන් සමන්විත සාමාජිකත්ව සංවර්ධන අංශය රොටරැක්ට් සමාජය සමග සාඩම්බරයෙන් සම්බන්ධ වෙයි. ප්‍රජා සේවා අංශය විසින් සංවිධාන කළ ‘පෘථිවි’ සහ සමාජ සේවා අංශය විසින් සංවිධාන කළ Club Picnic යන ව්‍යාපෘති දෙක ම රොටරැක්ට්වරුන් සමග සාර්ථක ව ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට මේ අංශය කටයුතු කර ඇත. මොවුන් රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයේ අනෙකුත් සියලු ම අංශවලට සහාය වන අතර ඉදිරියටත් සෙසු රොටරැක්ට් ව්‍යාපෘති සඳහා සහයෝගය දීමට බලාපොරොත්තු වෙයි.

14வது நிறுவல் விழா வெற்றிகரமாக முடிந்தது!  உறுப்பினர் மேம்பாட்டு அவென்யூ மற்றும் ரோட்டராக்ட் கிளப்பின் மற்ற அனைத்து வழிகளிலுமான கடின உழைப்பு இதற்குக் காரணம்.  கிளப்பின் இந்த ஆண்டின் மிக நேர்த்தியான நிகழ்வில் உற்சாகத்தை உருவாக்கவும், ரோட்ராக்டர்களின் பங்கேற்பை ஊக்குவிக்கவும் குழு கடுமையாக உழைத்தது.  அவர்களின் ஆர்வத்துடன், வரவிருக்கும் அனைத்து திட்டங்களுக்கும் ரோட்டராக்டர்களுக்கு அவர்கள் பெரும் ஆதரவாக இருப்பார்கள் என்பதில் சந்தேகமில்லை.

Public Relations

The public relations Avenue has continued with the making and supervising of posts that go out for every respective Avenue project. The project of the PR Avenue which was due to be conducted in August has been postponed till further notice due to unavoidable circumstances.

In September the PR Avenue started working on their 1st project “Public Loop”. “Public Loop” is a talk seminar done to help enhance undergraduates’ mass communication skills and PR knowledge. Apart from that the Avenue completed their daily tasks ranging from updating social media on a timely basis to making posts.

සැප්තැම්බර් මාසයේදී PR අංශය ඔවුන්ගේ පළමු වන ව්‍යාපෘතිය “Public Loop” හි වැඩ කිරීමට පටන් ගත්තේය. “Public Loop” යනු උපාධි අපේක්ෂකයින්ගේ ජන සන්නිවේදන කුසලතා සහ PR දැනුම වැඩි දියුණු කිරීම සඳහා කරන ලද කතා සම්මන්ත්‍රණයකි. ඊට අමතරව සමාජ මාධ්‍ය නියමිත වේලාවට යාවත්කාලීන කිරීමේ සිට පෝස්ට් සෑදීම දක්වා ඔවුන්ගේ දෛනික කාර්යයන් සම්පූර්ණ කළෝය.

செப்டம்பரில், PR துறை அவர்களின் முதல் திட்டமான “Public Loop” வேலை தொடங்கியது. “பப்ளிக் லூப்” என்பது இளங்கலை பட்டதாரிகளின் வெகுஜன தகவல் தொடர்பு திறன் மற்றும் PR அறிவை மேம்படுத்த உதவும் ஒரு பேச்சு கருத்தரங்கு ஆகும். அதுமட்டுமல்லாமல், சமூக ஊடகங்களை சரியான நேரத்தில் புதுப்பித்தல் முதல் இடுகைகளை உருவாக்குவது வரை அவென்யூ அவர்களின் அன்றாட பணிகளை முடித்தது.

Editorial

In the heartwarming spirit of August, the Rotaract editorial team has continued to spread love and celebrate the talents within our vibrant community. This month witnessed the continuation of our much-loved “The Love Gazette” article series, delving deeper into the various facets of love that bind us together as Rotractors. Stay tuned for more heartening stories and engaging content in the months ahead.

In September, the editorial made progress in various areas. Here’s a recap of our accomplishments this month. We continued to publish articles as part of the Love Gazette series. This ongoing project has been a great success so far as we were able to uncover remarkable stories of love from different perspectives. We celebrated our fourteenth installation ceremony, a momentous event in the history of Rotaract. During the ceremony Rtr. Kusali Rupasinghe and Rtr Sajani Jayasinghe were appointed as the co editors marking a new chapter for the editorial team. Our heartfelt congratulations for the team.

හෘදයාංගම අගෝස්තු මාසය පුරා ප්‍රේමණීය නිර්මාණාත්මක කෞශල්‍යයන් සමරමින් ප්‍රේමය පතුරන්නට සංස්කරණ අංශය සමත් විය. රොටරැක්ට්වරුන් අතර ප්‍රේමයේ සංකල්පනා පුබුදුවමින් “The Love Gazette” ලිපි මාලාව මෙවරත් පළ වූ අතර ප්‍රේමයේ විවිධ පැතිකඩ ස්පර්ශ කිරීමට මෙම ලිපි මාලාව සමත් විය. තවත් එවැනි ආකර්ෂණීය ලිපි මාලාවක් සමඟ රැඳී සිටින්නට සංස්කරණ අංශය ආරාධනා කරයි.

සැප්තැම්බර් මාසයේදී කතුවැකිය විවිධ අංශවලින් ප්‍රගතියක් ලබා ගන්නට සමත් විය. මේ සටහන් කරනුයේ සැප්තැම්බර් මාසයේ අපගේ ජයග්‍රහණ පිළිබඳ නැවත හැරී බැලීමකි. Love Gazette ලිපි මාලාවට අපි දිගටම ලිපි පළ කළෙමු. විවිධ අදහස් සමගින් ආදරය පිළිබඳ අපූර්ව රචනා දැන ගැනීමට අපට හැකි වූ බැවින් මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය මේ වන විටත් ඉතා සාර්ථක වී ඇත. රොටරැක්ට් ඉතිහාසයේ වැදගත් සිදුවීමක් වූ අපගේ දහහතරවන පදවි ප්‍රදාන උත්සවය (Installation Ceremony) අපි සැමරුවෙමු. උත්සවයේදී  රොටරැක්ට් කතුවැකියට නව පරිච්ඡේදයක් සනිටුහන් කරමින් සම සංස්කාරකවරුන් ලෙස Rtr. කුසලි රූපසිංහ සහ Rtr. සජනි ජයසිංහ පත් කරන ලදී. ඔවුන්ට අපගේ හෘදයාංගම සුබ පැතුම්!

செப்டம்பரில், தலையங்கம் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளில் முன்னேற்றம் கண்டது. இம்மாதத்தில் எங்களின் சாதனைகளின் மீள் தொகுப்பு.
காதல் வர்த்தமானி தொடரின் ஒரு பகுதியாக நாங்கள் தொடர்ந்து கட்டுரைகளை வெளியிட்டோம். வெவ்வேறு கண்ணோட்டங்களில் காதல் பற்றிய குறிப்பிடத்தக்க கதைகளை எங்களால் வெளிக்கொணர முடிந்ததால், இந்த நடந்துகொண்டிருக்கும் திட்டம் மிகப்பெரிய வெற்றியைப் பெற்றுள்ளது. எங்களின் பதினான்காவது நிறுவல் விழாவைக் கொண்டாடினோம், இது ரோட்ராக்ட் வரலாற்றில் ஒரு முக்கிய நிகழ்வாகும். விழாவின் போது Rtr. ஆசிரியர் குழுவிற்கு ஒரு புதிய அத்தியாயத்தை குறிக்கும் வகையில் இணை ஆசிரியர்களாக குசாலி ரூபசிங்க மற்றும் Rtr சஜனி ஜயசிங்க ஆகியோர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டனர். அணிக்கு எங்களது மனமார்ந்த வாழ்த்துக்கள்.

Environmental Service Avenue

The Environmental Service Avenue experienced an enjoyable month as we concluded the ‘Tree Plantation project,’ also recognized as project “pruthuwi,” in collaboration with the Community Service Avenue. We want to extend our special thanks to the staff of ‘Erewwala Dharmapala Vidyalaya, Pannipitiya,’ and express our gratitude towards Ms. Avishka Sendanayaka, who served as our Climate and Sustainability specialist and played a crucial role in this initiative. Additionally, we’d like to show appreciation to our chair, Dulasha Thanuli Rajarathna, for her participation in this endeavour. Moreover, it is with great pleasure that we introduce our new co-director, Rotaractor Buddhi Munasinghe, who has become a part of our team this month! We look forward to working with her and the rest of our team on our upcoming projects over the next few months.

ප්‍රජා සේවා මාවතේ සහයෝගීතාවයෙන් “pruthuwi” – ‘ රුක් රෝපණ ව්‍යාපෘතිය ‘ අවසන් කළ පරිසර සේවා අංශය අගෝස්තු මාසයේ සතුටුදායක අත්දැකීමක් ලැබුවා. පන්නිපිටිය එරැව්වල ධර්මපාල විද්‍යාලයේ ආචාර්ය මණ්ඩලයට අපගේ විශේෂ ස්තුතිය පුද කිරීමට අවශ්‍ය වන අතර, අපගේ දේශගුණික හා තිරසාරභාවය පිළිබඳ විශේෂඥවරිය ලෙස කටයුතු කළ සහ මෙම මුලපිරීම සඳහා තීරණාත්මක කාර්යභාරයක් ඉටු කළ අවිශ්කා සෙන්දනායක මහත්මියට අපගේ කෘතඥතාව පළ කිරීමට අපි කැමතියි. එපමණක්ද නොව, මෙම මාසයේ අපගේ කණ්ඩායමේ සාමාජිකයෙකු බවට පත් වූ අපගේ නව සම අධ්‍යක්ෂක රොටරැක්ටර් බුද්ධි මුණසිංහ හඳුන්වා දීමට ලැබීම සතුටට කරුණකි! ඉදිරි මාස කිහිපය තුළ අපගේ ඉදිරි ව්‍යාපෘති සඳහා ඇය සහ අපගේ කණ්ඩායමේ සෙසු අය සමඟ වැඩ කිරීමට අපි බලාපොරොත්තු වෙමු.

சமூக சேவை அவென்யூவுடன் இணைந்து “ப்ருதுவி” திட்டமாக அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட ‘மரம் நடும் திட்டத்தை’ நாங்கள் முடித்ததால் சுற்றுச்சூழல் சேவை அவென்யூ ஒரு மகிழ்ச்சியான மாதத்தை அனுபவித்தது. பன்னிபிட்டிய எரவ்வல தர்மபால வித்தியாலய ஊழியர்களுக்கு எமது விசேட நன்றிகளைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்வதுடன், எமது காலநிலை மற்றும் நிலைத்தன்மை நிபுணராக செயற்பட்டு இந்த முயற்சியில் முக்கிய பங்காற்றிய திருமதி அவிஷ்கா சேந்தநாயக்க அவர்களுக்கு எமது நன்றிகளைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கின்றோம். மேலும், இந்த முயற்சியில் பங்குபற்றியதற்காக, எங்கள் நாற்காலி துலாஷா தனுலி ராஜரத்னவுக்கு பாராட்டுக்களைத் தெரிவிக்க விரும்புகிறோம். மேலும், இம்மாதம் எமது அணியில் அங்கம் வகிக்கும் எமது புதிய இணை இயக்குநரான ரொட்டராக்டர் புத்தி முனசிங்கவை அறிமுகப்படுத்துவதில் மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறோம்! அடுத்த சில மாதங்களில் எங்களின் வரவிருக்கும் திட்டங்களில் அவருடனும் எங்கள் குழுவினருடனும் இணைந்து பணியாற்ற நாங்கள் எதிர்நோக்குகிறோம்.

Sports and Recreation Avenue

The most awaited sports showdown of the year is around the corner, Rotaract Champions League!! The avenue has officially opened registrations to all sports enthusiasts and all the necessary guidelines for registrations are provided. The avenue invites all the sportiers to pick up the pace and grab their chance to take part in this exciting sports fiesta!

වසරේ වඩාත් උණුසුම් ම ක්‍රිඩා තරඟවලිය ලෙසින් සංවිධානය කෙරෙන Rotaract Champions League සඳහා අවශ්‍ය කටයුතු මේ වනවිටත් සූදානම් කෙරෙමින් පවතියි. ඒ සඳහා ක්‍රීඩක ක්‍රීඩිකාවන් ලියාපදිංචි කරවාගැනීම මේවන විට අරඹා ඇති අතර මෙම අංශය මඟින් ක්‍රීඩාවට උනන්දු සියලු දෙනා සඳහා ගෞරවයෙන් ආරාධනා කරයි .

இந்த ஆண்டின் மிகவும் எதிர்பார்க்கப்பட்ட விளையாட்டு போட்டி, ரோட்டராக்ட் சாம்பியன்ஸ் லீக் ஆகிறது!! அவென்யூ அனைத்து விளையாட்டு ஆர்வலர்களுக்கும் அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக பதிவுகளை திறந்துள்ளது மற்றும் பதிவுகளுக்கு தேவையான அனைத்து வழிகாட்டுதல்களும் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. அவென்யூ அனைத்து விளையாட்டு வீரர்களையும் வேகத்தை அதிகரிக்கவும், இந்த அற்புதமான விளையாட்டு திருவிழாவில் பங்கேற்கும் வாய்ப்பைப் பெறவும் அழைக்கிறது!
