துரதிர்ஷ்டவசமாக அன்று வேலை முடிந்து எப்பொழுதும் நான் வீட்டுக்கு போகும் பேரூந்தை தவற விட்டு விட்டேன்... என்ன செய்வதென்று அறியாமல் சாலைஓரமாய் நின்று யோசித்து கொண்டு இருக்கும் நிமிடம் அவளிடம் இருந்து பதற்றமான தொலைபேசி அழைப்பு வந்தது. நான் பேசும் முன்பே பதற்றத்தில் வார்த்தைகளை அள்ளி வீசியவளிடத்தில் நடந்ததை பக்குவமாய் எடுத்துக் கூறினேன்.. இன்று ஏதாவதொரு ஹோட்டலில் தங்கி விட்டு நாளை காலை வீட்டுக்கு வருவதாய் கூறி அவளது பேச்சுக்கு காத்திருக்காது அழைப்பை துண்டித்து விட்டு அவசரமாக நடந்தேன்..களைப்பு மிகுதியில் ஒருவாரு ஒரு முச்சக்கர வண்டியில் ஏறி அந்த ஹோட்டலிற்கு வந்து சேர்ந்தேன். அது தான் மவுன்ட் லவினியா ஹோட்டல். இரவின் தேவதை சந்திரன் வானத்தின் மீது தீராத காதல் கொண்டு பௌர்ணமி நிலவாய் வானில் ஜொலித்துக் கொண்டிருக்க , வானத்தின் மீது கோபம் கொண்ட கடல் அலைகளோ சீற்றமாய் பொங்கி எழும்பி தரை நோக்கி வேகமாய் மோதிக் கொண்டிருந்தது அவ் அமைதியான இரவினிலே...அந்த ஆழமான ஆழியிற்கு மேலும் அழகு சேர்ப்பதாய் பக்கத்தில் அமைந்திருந்தது மவுன்ட் லவினியா ஹோட்டல், சுற்றி எங்கும் உயர்ந்து வளர்ந்த தென்னை மரங்கள் கடல் நோக்கி…
