සිනහවක සුවඳ රැඳුණු මතක – Happy Hour

Kawya සමාජ සේවය යනු අවශ්‍යතා ඇති පුද්ගලයන්ට උපකාර කිරීම පමණක් නොව, මනුෂ්‍යත්වය, සංවේදනය සහ එකමුතුකම අත්විඳින වටිනා ගමනකි. එම අර්ථය මනාව විදහා දැක්වූ ව්‍යාපෘතියක් ලෙස Happy Hour සාර්ථකව නිමාවට පත්විය. 2026 අගෝස්තු 1 වන දින, කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ ශාස්ත්‍ර පීඨයේ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයේ ප්‍රජා සේවා අංශය විසින් Challenged Children's Aid Association of Sri Lanka හිදී විශේෂ අවශ්‍යතා සහිත දරුවන් වෙනුවෙන් මෙම වැඩසටහන සංවිධානය කරන ලදී. ඔවුන් සමඟ සතුට, සිනහව සහ ආදරය බෙදාගනිමින් අර්ථවත් කාලයක් ගත කිරීමට අපට අවස්ථාව හිමි විය. මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය සැලසුම් කිරීම සහ ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම සඳහා අපට ලැබුණේ සතියක පමණ කෙටි කාලයකි. එහෙත් සංවිධායක කමිටුවේ සාමාජිකයන්ගේ කැපවීම, සැලසුම්කරණය සහ කණ්ඩායම් සහයෝගීතාවය හේතුවෙන් එම කාලය තුළ සාර්ථක හා බලපෑමක් ඇති ව්‍යාපෘතියක් නිර්මාණය කිරීමට හැකි විය. Annual Transition Meeting – 2026

The annual Transition Meeting of the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts was held on 8 July 2026 in faculty premises.  The event consisted of the Rotaract formalities, followed by the assumption of duties by the President for the RI year 2026/2027, Rtr. Anya Senadhira, along with the club's Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.  During the event, the club’s President shared her aspirations to lead the club towards a successful and unforgettable year of service and fellowship under the motto ‘Service for tomorrow, legacy for a lifetime’.

Orientation’26: RACUOCFOA welcomes new members

The Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts welcomed a new batch of general members for the RI year 2026/2027 on 7 July at the Faculty premises. Baila Night’25: A Night of Music, Dance, and Community

Baila Night'25, held on the 30th of May 2025 at King George Hall, University of Colombo, was a vibrant event organized by the Club Service Avenues of the Rotaract Club of Cinnamon Gardens and the Rotaract Club of the University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts. It brought together young people for an evening filled with Sri Lankan Baila music, dancing, games, and, of course, plenty of kottu. With a DJ spinning classic Baila hits, the dance floor quickly came alive. The lively beats kept the crowd moving, while fun games throughout the night added extra excitement. Aspire’25: Opening Doors to Global Scholarship Opportunities

Aspire’25 was a scholarship awareness program held on the 26th of March at Hall 302, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo. It was organized jointly with the Economic Students’ Association of the University of Colombo. The event, which was originally planned as a career fair later developed into a program focused on postgraduate scholarships. Aspire’25 aimed to inform undergraduates about international scholarship opportunities. The program was held in a hybrid format, both physically and virtually, allowing wider access for students. Speakers included individuals who had successfully received international postgraduate scholarships. They shared practical advice, personal experiences, and useful tips on how to apply and prepare for scholarship opportunities. A recap of the last few months—full of energy, impact, and fun! Club Service Avenue The Club Service Avenue successfully organized a Valentine’s Special Love Flix – a movie night on the 5th of February. The screening took place at Hall 223, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo, from 5:00 PM. It was an evening filled with entertainment, fun, and fellowship, bringing together rotaractors to celebrate the spirit of love and friendship. In addition, the Avenue took the initiative to organize the Kabaragala Hike which took place on the 23rd of February. இலங்கையின் அனுராதபுரத்தைச் சோழ வம்சத்து அரசனான எல்லாளன் ஆண்டு  வந்தான். மக்களின் குறைகளைக் கண்டறிய அவனது அரண்மனையின் வாயிலில் ஒரு மணியைக் கட்டிவிட்டான். அது ஆராய்ச்சி மணி என மக்களால் மதிக்கப்பட்டது. இதனால் மக்களின் குறைகளை அரசன் தீர்த்து வைத்து வந்தான். மற்றும் இதனால்  நகரவாசிகளும் பயனடைந்தனர்.  இவ்வாறு சில நாட்கள் கழிந்தன. ஒரு நாள் திடீரென்று ஆராய்ச்சி மணி ஒலிக்கும் சத்தம் கேட்டு முதலமைச்சர் வாயில் வந்து பார்த்தார். அங்குப் பசுவொன்று மணியை அடித்துக் கொன்று நிண்டது. ஆகவே அவர் காவலாளிகளை அனுப்பி பசுவின் துக்கத்திற்கான காரணத்தைக் கண்டறிந்தார். இளவரசன் விளையாட்டிற்காக அரண்மனை தேரினை ஒட்டி சென்ற தருணத்தில் தேர்க்காலில் அந்த பசுவின் கன்று சிக்குண்டு இறந்து போயிற்று. இதனை அந்த அமைச்சர்,  மன்னர்  அறியாது மறைத்துவிட  எண்ணினார். ஆனால் எவ்வாறோ அந்த செய்தி மன்னன் செவிகளை எட்டிவிட்டது. அதனை அறிந்த மன்னன் பசுவின் கன்றிற்கு நடந்ததை போன்றே தன் மகனுக்கும்  நடக்க வேண்டும் என நீதி வழங்கினார். அதற்கு அந்த அமைச்சர் "ஒரு  சிறுவனின் குறும்புத்தனத்தால் ஒரு கன்று பலியானது. அதற்காக இந்த நாட்டின் எதிர்கால இளவரசனையே…
