In lieu of the Membership Retention Month, Rotaractors at the University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts have submitted their creative work for the month of August under the theme “My Rotaract Journey”. Somewhere between the projects, laughter and shared purpose, a club became a community. It gave me the chance to serve, to lead, to learn and to find joy in doing something that mattered. Today, I proudly carry the role of International Service Director, taking my club’s name beyond familiar borders. எனது ரோட்ராக்ட் பயணம்

Sathiyakumaran Arunan நான் லியோ, ரோட்டராக்ட், கொழும்பு பீகான், ஸிரோ பிளாஸ்ரிக் போன்ற கழகங்களில்பங்குபற்றியுள்ளேன். ஆனால் ரோட்ராக்ட் கழகத்தில் நான் இணைந்து பணியாற்றியது எனது அதிர்ஷ்டம் அல்ல… பேரதிஷ்டம்… எனக்கு நிறைய நண்பர்கள் கிடைத்தது அந்தகழகத்தினால் தான். வேறுபட்ட பார்வைகள், அனுபவங்கள், இன்ப துன்பம், கோபம்,வெறுப்பு என அனைத்தையும் அதில் கற்றேன். எனக்கு முதலில் ரோட்ராக்ட் கழகம் மீதான அபிப்பிராயம் சிறிதுமில்லை. ஆயினும் அந்த கழகத்தின் செயற்றிட்டங்களில் செயற்பட்ட அனுபவம் உண்டு. எனது நண்பிமொபீதாவினால் தான் இந்த கழகத்தில் ஓர் அங்கத்தினராக இணையும் வாய்ப்பு கிட்டியது. அதன் பிறகு எனக்கு இனுர, நெத்ரூ, சமோதி, அவிந்தியா, பிரவீனா, இண்டீவரி, மிகிவமி, நெத்மி, ஸிய்னப், திடசரா, தெவ்மி, ரன்சலா, திசேனி, விஹாங்கி, பினரி போன்ற பல நண்பர்களின் அறிமுகமும் இனிமையான நீண்ட நாள் நட்பும் கிடைத்தது. எனது பல்கலைக்கழக இரண்டாம் வருடத்தில் ரோட்ராக்ட் ஆண்டு 25/26 இல் மொபீதாதலைமையிலான குழுவில் கொழும்புப் பல்கலைக்கழக கலைப்பீட ரோட்ராக்ட் கழகத்தின் இணை ஆசிரியர்களாக நானும் இனுரவும் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டோம். அதிலிருந்து எமக்கிடையிலான நட்பு மேலும் வலுவடைந்தது. நாம் சண்டையிட்டோம். சேர்ந்து பணியாற்றினோம். என…

For the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts, the month of July proved to be an eventful one filled with projects and engagements. We began our activities with the Orientation Programme on the 7th of July, while the Transition Meeting took place on the following day. Meanwhile, the Club Service and the Community Service Avenue began their projects by calling applications for the organising committees of our 17th Installation Ceremony and Happy Hour. Our Rotaractors also took part in many District events such as the Rotary District Road Safety Program & Road Safety Conference on 18th July and PFEC Global’s World Study Fair on 25th July, and hosted the Rotaract District Council Meeting on 18th July. மகிழ்ச்சியைத் தேடி… மனிதநேயப் பயணம்

Sasna 2026 ஆகஸ்ட் 1ஆம் திகதி, கொழும்புப் பல்கலைக்கழக கலைப்பீடத்தின் Rotaract கழக உறுப்பினர்களான நாங்கள் பல கட்ட திட்டமிடலுக்கு பின்னர்  Challenged Children’s Association of Sri Lanka-க்கு விஜயம் செய்தோம். அங்கு நாங்கள் அன்பான புன்னகையுடனும் அன்பான வரவேற்புடனும் வரவேற்கப்பட்டோம். குழந்தைகளுடன் உரையாடல்கள், சிரிப்புகள் மற்றும் மகிழ்ச்சியான தருணங்களைப் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டது உண்மையிலேயே எங்கள் மனதை நெகிழச் செய்தது. அந்தக் குழந்தைகள் எங்களுக்கு உண்மையான வலிமை மற்றும் மகிழ்ச்சியின் அர்த்தத்தை கற்றுக் கொடுத்தனர். அவர்கள் எதிர்கொள்ளும் சவால்களுக்கு மத்தியிலும், மகிழ்ச்சி, நேர்மறையான எண்ணங்கள் மற்றும் துணிச்சலை வெளிப்படுத்தினர். அவர்களை தினமும் அன்புடனும் அர்ப்பணிப்புடனும் கவனித்துக் கொள்ளும் அர்ப்பணிப்புமிக்க பணியாளர்களைச் சந்தித்ததும், அவர்களின் பராமரிப்பில் எவ்வளவு அன்பும் முயற்சியும் உள்ளடங்கியுள்ளது என்பதை எங்களுக்கு உணர்த்தியது. நாங்கள் எங்களுடைய நேரத்தையும் ஆதரவையும் வழங்குவதற்காக அங்கு சென்றோம். ஆனால், பல மதிப்புமிக்க பாடங்களையும் அழகான நினைவுகளையும் எங்களுடன் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு திரும்பினோம். இந்த அனுபவம் சமூக சேவையில் தொடர்ந்து ஈடுபடுவதற்கான எங்கள் அர்ப்பணிப்பை மேலும் வலுப்படுத்தியது. எதிர்காலத்திலும் இந்த சங்கத்திற்கு தொடர்ந்து ஆதரவளிக்க முடியும் என நம்புகிறோம்.

Happy Hour: A Visit to the Challenged Children’s Association of Sri Lanka

සිනහවක සුවඳ රැඳුණු මතක – Happy Hour

Kawya සමාජ සේවය යනු අවශ්‍යතා ඇති පුද්ගලයන්ට උපකාර කිරීම පමණක් නොව, මනුෂ්‍යත්වය, සංවේදනය සහ එකමුතුකම අත්විඳින වටිනා ගමනකි. එම අර්ථය මනාව විදහා දැක්වූ ව්‍යාපෘතියක් ලෙස Happy Hour සාර්ථකව නිමාවට පත්විය. 2026 අගෝස්තු 1 වන දින, කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ ශාස්ත්‍ර පීඨයේ රොටරැක්ට් සමාජයේ ප්‍රජා සේවා අංශය විසින් Challenged Children's Aid Association of Sri Lanka හිදී විශේෂ අවශ්‍යතා සහිත දරුවන් වෙනුවෙන් මෙම වැඩසටහන සංවිධානය කරන ලදී. ඔවුන් සමඟ සතුට, සිනහව සහ ආදරය බෙදාගනිමින් අර්ථවත් කාලයක් ගත කිරීමට අපට අවස්ථාව හිමි විය. මෙම ව්‍යාපෘතිය සැලසුම් කිරීම සහ ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම සඳහා අපට ලැබුණේ සතියක පමණ කෙටි කාලයකි. එහෙත් සංවිධායක කමිටුවේ සාමාජිකයන්ගේ කැපවීම, සැලසුම්කරණය සහ කණ්ඩායම් සහයෝගීතාවය හේතුවෙන් එම කාලය තුළ සාර්ථක හා බලපෑමක් ඇති ව්‍යාපෘතියක් නිර්මාණය කිරීමට හැකි විය. Annual Transition Meeting – 2026

The annual Transition Meeting of the Rotaract Club of University of Colombo, Faculty of Arts was held on 8 July 2026 in faculty premises.  The event consisted of the Rotaract formalities, followed by the assumption of duties by the President for the RI year 2026/2027, Rtr. Anya Senadhira, along with the club's Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.  During the event, the club’s President shared her aspirations to lead the club towards a successful and unforgettable year of service and fellowship under the motto ‘Service for tomorrow, legacy for a lifetime’.
